Monday, April 20th - Friday, April 24th - Grade 5

Here is an overview of the work posted on your child’s workspaces.

Science (English)
Nisbet:  Workspace Science for Conservation of Energy - 2020 this assignment will be evaluated since it  was given out and due  before March Break. 

Online Learning Human Body Systems in workspace is the current curriculum 
Religion
Nisbet - Easter reflection
Bahm/Nesrallah (pm class): Religion work for April 20-24 is posted in the Religion@Home workspace.  It is a media task this week. Students will have an opportunity to make social distancing media pieces helping Dr Vera Etches to spread the word that we need to keep staying home and social distancing.
Sciences
(French Immersion)
Follow the purple cards.
Le système respiratoire (Respiratory system). Look at the slides then do a self assessment.  Watch the video, then fill out the Google slides (with word bank).
Études sociales
Follow the blue cards.
After a French reading, the students will describe some similarities and differences amongst the First Nations people before the arrival of the Europeans.  The students can make their comparaison in the table provided.
Français Immersion
Follow the green cards.
Reading: After reviewing the Science info for all 3 systems, students can add to a collaborative word bank via Padlet.

Mme Verhoeven will have a Google Meet with her French class on Tuesday, April 21st @ 1 - 1:30 pm.  Students will receive an invitation to join through their @ocsbstudent account.  Students only need to click on the link in their email to join.

Continue to read Daily en français (15 minutes) and to log your books in your reading log.  Reading A-Z is a great site to access French leveled books.  Username:  MEMacPhee   Password:  StJerome

And students can also access  Boukili for French leveled texts 
Extended French and Social Studies
Go to your Social Studies folder in your Hapara folder and fill out the following table.
Use the internet to search what the Indigenous people invented/created that we still use in our everyday lives?
