Le système circulatoire: Watch the specified videos in the order given with self-assessment after the first one.  Complete the heart diagram with French terminologie found in the videos. Bonus: online game found under “Resources” column.

Études sociales

Mini project on the indigenous people - three choices are given, students only choose ONE.  Details of the choices are found on the Études sociales workspace.

Français Immersion

1) As shared by our principal Mr. Slack, the first week of May is Catholic Education Week and the theme this year is “Ignite Hope”.
On a PADLET found in the français workspace - EN FRANÇAIS, students will write or record a Message d’espoir  (Message of hope) 

2) Mother’s Day activity: opportunity for craft and card--trying to keep some mystery for you.  ;)

Le système respiratoire: catch-up from last week, if needed. There are enrichment opportunities for those who are caught up. Students have the opportunity to create a working model of a lung.
Études sociales

Students will identify and describe the areas inhabited by the Iroquois and Algonquian groups
  • Complete a chart about the environment that either the Iroquois OR Algonquians lived in (requires research on the internet)
  • Identify two inventions of Indigenous people  that helped them travel more easily in the winter
  • Ask a question concerning travel amongst Indigenous people.

Listening Comprehension: listen to a video interview with Justin Trudeau and Dr. Tam as they answer children’s questions.  Fill out a Google form to show understanding.

Check out the picture of the bison in “parties du bison” doc to see how the Siksikas tribe utilized all parts of the bison and did not waste.  Very interesting!

Bahm/Nesrallah (pm class): Religion work for April 20-24 is posted in the Religion@Home workspace.  It is a media task this week. Students will have an opportunity to make social distancing media pieces helping Dr Vera Etches to spread the word that we need to keep staying home and social distancing.
Sciences
(French Immersion)

Le système respiratoire (Respiratory system). Look at the slides then do a self assessment.  Watch the video, then fill out the Google slides (with word bank).
Études sociales
Follow the blue cards.
After a French reading, the students will describe some similarities and differences amongst the First Nations people before the arrival of the Europeans.  The students can make their comparaison in the table provided.
Français Immersion

Reading: After reviewing the Science info for all 3 systems, students can add to a collaborative word bank via Padlet.
